Christiaan works as a Principal Program Manager and Community Lead on the Cloud Managed Desktops Engineering team at Microsoft, bringing his expertise to help customers imagine new virtualization experiences. A former Global Black Belt and Senior Technical Specialist for Windows Virtual Desktop, Christiaan joined Microsoft in 2018 as part of the FSLogix acquisition. In his role at Microsoft, he will bring Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) and Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM) closer together, drive community efforts around virtualization to empower Microsoft customers in leveraging new cloud virtualization scenarios. He also co-leads the #VDILIKEAPRO – state of the union survey, is the founder of the Microsoft meets Community: Windows Virtual Desktop event (aka.ms/wvdevent2021) and is the founder and co-host of the new technical-driven video podcast show called Desktops in the Cloud.

He contributes to Nutanix product development and analyzes EUC technology trends that impacted the current and future of work. Ruben is a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP), NVIDIA GRID Community Advisor, and was in the Citrix CTP program from 2008-2017 and VMware vExpert from 2008-2018. Ruben (co)founded several independent industry bodies such as Project Virtual Reality Check (VRC), VDI Like A Pro, Team Remote Graphics Experts (TeamRGE), WhatMatrix, AppVirtGURU wrote and co-authoring multiple disruptive research papers. In the past 12 at Microsoft years, he has held several roles including Windows Technical Solution Professional, EMS Blackbelt Technical Solution Professional and Premier Field Engineering. Pieter has visited over 300 different customers across the EMEA region and is well known in the Windows and Mobility field. Outside of work Pieter likes to hike, play field hockey or brew beer with friends.

Richard’s passion is in working with Customers to drive mutual success, helping them solve the critical business issues they face while working with his team to push the company to the next level. We hosted our first VDI Performance Summit in Amsterdam in 2019, followed by a virtual event. Both events surpassed our expectations, and we did a repeat of both live and virtual the following year.
